[2021] Australia's infrastructure project pipeline - A mini wiki

Monica Gameng   |   March 1, 2021
australia infrastructure pipeline projects

Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented times throughout the globe. It has affected the livelihoods of many and plenty of businesses were at a standstill.

By mid to late 2020, Australia was already moving towards recovery and, with this, the Australian Government has invested $110 billion on a 10-year infrastructure pipeline that will aid in the country's economic recovery following COVID-19.

The Australian Government has worked with state, territory as well as local governments to guarantee vital infrastructure are delivered in a timely manner and additional short-term opportunities are identified that will also support jobs and businesses.

In June 2020, the Government has provided a $1.5 billion infrastructure stimulus package. Broken down, this more than a billion-dollar stimulus package covers $1 billion for shovel-ready projects that can commence works within six months; and $500 million for Targeted Road Safety Works to be delivered by states and territories within a 12-month period.

Below is a list of projects in various stages (planning, procurement, construction, etc.) in each state and territory.
