Final location of Cross River Rail stations in the Gold Coast revealed
Following last month’s announcement of the preferred locations for three Cross River Rail stations in the Gold Coast, the Queensland Government has confirmed the final locations of each station, marking another project milestone.
“The Gold Coast is growing fast and the Palaszczuk Government is building the infrastructure needed to support this growth.
“More than 120 jobs will be created during construction of these train stations - infrastructure that will Gold Coasters get from A to B faster and more efficiently,” Minister for Cross River Rail Kate Jones said.
The final locations of the three Gold Coast stations are:
- Pimpama Station - off the Old Pacific Highway
- Helensvale North Station - next to mangrove Jack Park, off Hope Island Road
- Merrimac Station - on Gooding Drive, approximately 750 metres east of the Pacific Motorway and Gooding Drive Interchange

According to Assistant Tourism Industry Development Minister Meaghan Scanlon, these new stations will provide local communities with better access to convenient rail services.
“We’re building these stations because we know public transport makes a real impact on people’s lives.
“Announcing the station locations is an important milestone and marks the beginning of the next phase of work needed to complete these stations,” Ms Scanlon said.
Prior to commencing construction (anticipated in 2020-21), land will have to be acquired for the new stations as well as reach a final design and release a tender for the procurement of construction partners.

“Local knowledge will be invaluable in helping us to finalise these designs. You can give feedback online or you can attend in person at one of the community drop-in sessions,” Ms Scanlon added.
The three new Gold Coast stations are expected to be completed in about three years and be operational along with the start of the Cross River Rail network.
