Our Feature in Focus webinar series are designed to give you an in-depth look into Felix so that you can better use its features and functionality to derive the most value from the platform.
In case you missed it, our recent Feature in Focus webinar, How smart contract begins with Felix took a closer look at our Felix Contracts module, explaining how you can use our contract repository to:
If you want to see Felix Contracts in action, you can watch the entire webinar here or read the highlights in our webinar recap.
Let’s recap the questions that were addressed during the webinar.
Q: When adding a contract into Felix to create a contract record, can Felix also generate a contract number?
A: The Contract Number field is currently a free-text field that is not automatically created. A Contract ID number is created once the contract record has been added. However, this is not visible in the UI but is included in the Contracts CSV export.
---
Q: Can I create a contract placeholder and then use that Contract ID as the contract number?
A: The Contract ID number is only created once the contract record has been added, so this may be possible if you wanted to create the contract record with a placeholder Contract Number, then generate the CSV report to show the Felix Contract ID number, and then editing the existing contract record.
Q: If a key date is moved far enough back, all reminder dates will be in the past – what happens then?
A: Users will get an alert when they edit the key date informing them that there are connected reminders that will be impacted and need updating manually. The reminder remains in the Reminder tab with the current date but with an icon that signifies it has been impacted and needs to be updated or deleted manually.
---
Q: When creating a reminder, can you select multiple recipient names?
A: No - Reminders need to be created separately for each individual recipient. We’re happy to take on feedback to understand if there’s a need to select multiple names or teams when creating reminders. To submit feedback, please refer to our Product Roadmap and add your suggestions.
---
Q: If I update a key date with a reminder attached to it (for example, a reminder set for 15 days prior), will this flow across and update the reminder date accordingly?
A: Yes – Reminders will be updated. If you update a key date with a reminder connected, you will get a prompt informing you the reminder dates will also be updated. If users delete a key date, reminders will stay in place with their current dates (you will also get a prompt informing you of this). If users want reminders to be deleted, this must be done manually.
Q: What are your plans for the next phase of feature developments in the contracts space?
A: We're always looking for ways to continuously improve the Felix Contracts module. If you have any feedback, we would love to hear more from you by providing feature suggestions via our Customer Roadmap. Our plans for all our modules are in the Roadmap, so check it out. Regarding what’s next for Felix Contracts, you will see that we are looking into introducing Contract Management APIs to empower our clients with custom reporting and integrations with this module.
We would love to hear if you have any other questions about what we covered in our Feature in Focus webinar or Felix in general. Reach out to us, and we will get the right person to respond to you.
