Decmil has secured a new contract to extend and upgrade the existing Mulla Mulla Village that supports BHP’s South Flank and Mining Area C operations in Western Australia. Including this new award, Decmil’s total contract value for works at the Mulla Mulla Village is now at $153 million.
“The extension adds to the $13 million early works package announced in August 2017 and the $75 million stage one package announced in November 2017,” Decmil said in a statement.
Works under this new contract will include refurbishing, relocating as well as installing an additional 632 rooms at Mulla Mulla Village.
Decmil’s scope of works will also extend to the installation of 10 laundries, supplying and installing of new verandas as well as the construction of internal roads, drainage and concrete footpaths.
Decmil is set to commence at the Mulla Mulla Village immediately.
BHP has also recently awarded Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions with a $250 million contract for the delivery of a large-scale stockyard facility at the South Flank operations - located 120 kilometres north west of Newman.
