Walker Corporation has appointed Mainland Civil to undertake civil works on the $2 billion Parramatta Square development.
The first stage of works will unlock the Parramatta Square precinct as well as enable Walker to deliver the first two buildings – 3 and 4 Parramatta – which have been pre-committed to Australia Bank and Property New South Wales.
“The commencement to earthworks is a commitment to deliver on our promise to Council, our tenants and the Parramatta community. The first stage of delivery has been driven by our tenants and the demand for industry-leading office space that caters to the needs of Parramatta’s future workforce and its growing population of young, highly educated individuals,” said Walker Corporation Chairman Lang Walker.
Walker is working closely with Sydney Transport for NSW to facilitate the delivery of a state-of-the-art rail station connection which will provide commuter access from the station directly to the base of the towers into the public domain as well as retail space and north of Parramatta’s CBD.
3 and 4 Parramatta was designed by Johnson Pilton Walker (JPW) and it focuses on workforce health, well-being and productivity which will help raise efficiency and inspire creativity.
The two towers will comprise of 110,000SQM of net lettable space and 6,000 SQM of high quality retail space spread out across three podium levels. The public domain will be a diverse, vibrant space with bars, cafes and restaurants.
“These commercial towers will set new benchmark for innovative, flexible and sustainable working, with amenities and premium office space for the public and blue chip tenants,” Mr Walker said.
The first two buildings will be completed by 2019 and 2020, with the last two towers to be completed by mid-2021.
