The Australian Government has committed approximately $844 million to the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program through the Federal Budget 2017-18. With this investment, construction will be accelerated on the Pine River to Caloundra project as well as the Deception Bay Interchange sections and additional safety works.
Projects included in the 2017-18 Budget for the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program are:
“The Bruce Highway is absolutely vital to moving people around south-east Queensland.
“We’re over the congestion, so to get some funding is fantastic; it’s a tremendous growth area,” said Mayors of South-East QLD Director and Logan Mayor, Luke Smith.

The Pakenham Line in Victoria is on track to being level crossing free by 2025 as three more dangerous and congested level crossings are set to be removed following the award of an $844 million works contract.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are being called for the design and construction of Perth’s Kalamunda Road - Roe Highway intersection in Maida Vale, marking a new milestone on the $86 million project.
Construction is now underway on the $80 million Sumners Road interchange upgrade in Queensland, which will remove the old bridge and replace it with two new bridges with a total of six lanes.
