WBHO Infrastructure has been awarded a three-year contract to deliver earthworks and civil construction services at South32’s Worsley Alumina near Collie in Western Australia.
WBHO’s scope of works will include raising dam walls at the Bauxite Residue Disposal Area which involves the removal and replacement of residue mud piping, as well as general civil infrastructure works.
“WBHO is looking forward to working with South32 Worsley Alumina on the three-year contract,” said WBHO’s General Manager-Western Region Will Grobler.
WBHO will prioritise sourcing labour from the local area, which the local economy will benefit from.
“We have a ‘local first’ employment policy, and a key focus in the weeks and months ahead will be maximising opportunities for local skilled labourers and trainees to join us on site to deliver the works,” Mr Grobler said.
