Collectively, Townsville has up to $30 million invested for the projects listed below:
Palm Island, on the other hand, is investing $16.5 million for works on a primary health care facility. This project will help improve and expand health care services for palm Island residents. The facility will provide an improved access to medical services as well as provide a base for visiting specialists. The new health care facility will also offer a place for social and emotional well-being services as well as services for dental, maternal and child health.

Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Warren Truss confirmed earlier in the week that progress on the Pacific Highway upgrade is well underway with new access roads, realignments and rockblasting along the first 26 of the 115 kilometres between Woolgoolga to Ballina.
