At least $46.5 million has been invested on various Northern Queensland construction projects. Summarised below are the five upcoming and on-going construction works happening in Townsville and Palm Island.
Collectively, Townsville has up to $30 million invested for the projects listed below:
Palm Island, on the other hand, is investing $16.5 million for works on a primary health care facility. This project will help improve and expand health care services for palm Island residents. The facility will provide an improved access to medical services as well as provide a base for visiting specialists. The new health care facility will also offer a place for social and emotional well-being services as well as services for dental, maternal and child health.

Genex Power Limited has announced that the Queensland Government is investing approximately $147 million for the delivery of a transmission line as well as a new substation that will support the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project (K2-Hydro).
