The tender for the delivery of South Australia’s $20 million Golden Grove Road upgrade has been released to market, taking the project one step closer towards the beginning of construction.
“The Marshall Government is getting on with this important project and we have now gone out to tender to get shovels in the ground as soon as possible,” Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll said.
The two-stage project will upgrade a 3.4-kilometre section of the Golden Grove Road between One Tree Hill Road and Park Lake Drive.
Works will include:
The first stage of the project will upgrade Golden Grove Road from One Tree Hill Road to south of the signalised intersection at Golden Grove Road/Yatala Vale Road/The Grove Way while Stage 2 will be from Park Lake Drive to south of the signalised intersection of Golden Grove Road/Yatala Vale Road/The Grove Way.
Other works involved in this project include kerbing, drainage, road surfacing and delivery of new or upgraded road lighting.
“This upgrade will make a difference in the day-to-day lives of local residents, keeping both motorists and pedestrians safe.
“This will also bust congestion, meaning motorists spend less time stuck in traffic, and more time doing the things that matter,: Member for King Paula Leuthen said.
Construction on Stage 1 is anticipated to commence in late 2019, with the entire project completed by mid-2022.
