The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for Neoen Australia’s $350 million Bulgana Green Power Hub development has been awarded to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), with major construction activities to begin immediately.
Under their contract, SGRE will build the hybrid 194MW wind farm plus 20MW / 34MWh lithium-ion battery storage facility – located near Stawell in Victoria – as well as maintain the Bulgana Green Power Hub for 25 years.
The Bulgana Green Power Hub has already secured two power purchase agreement (PPA). This includes a 15-year PPA with the Victorian Government as well as a 10-year PPA with Nectar Farms.
Approximately 15 per cent of the generated power from Bulgana will go to Nectar Farms to be utilised for their greenhouses, with the remaining wind-battery generated electricity going to the local grid.
The Bulgana Green Power Hub is expected to be operational by August 2019.
