TBMs Daphne - who broke through first - and Beatrice concluded their seven-month journey building the 4.3-kilometre section of the metro tunnel from The Bays to Five Dock. The TBMs will move about two kilometres away to the Burwood North Metro Station site for their next stop, and they are due to arrive in early 2024.
Sydney Metro West is a once-in-a-century infrastructure investment that will double the capacity of rail transport between Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD. Once the new underground railway is up and running, it will link new communities to rail services while supporting employment growth and housing supply.
