Registrations of Interest (ROIs) are being called to build a 107-kilometre section of the multi-billion dollar Inland Rail project.
According to Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester, this massive project will be providing significant opportunities for suppliers and businesses – including construction companies – to build the Parkes to Narromine section of the Inland Rail.
“The Parkes to Narromine project is a major priority within the Inland Rail project and construction is expected to start early next year.
“The work will involve upgrading the existing rail corridor including the construction of a new 5.2-kilometre connection in a greenfield corridor.
“Suitably experienced companies are invited to apply to join a shortlist which will then proceed to a formal Expressions of Interest phase. Evaluation criteria will include company experience, suitability for the project, and a demonstrated ability to carry out the works,” Mr Chester said.
The Inland Rail will serve as a connection between Brisbane and Melbourne, and the project will be supporting thousands of jobs across regional Australia – including up to 16,000 direct and indirect jobs during peak construction.
The project will involve the following:
ROI submissions will close on 22nd of September 2017. Interested parties can submit their ROI documents through the TenderLink website here.
The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Narrabri to North Star section of the massive Inland Rail development has been granted approval, taking this project one step closer to beginning construction and supporting jobs in New South Wales.
The first sod has been turned to signal the beginning of construction on the second section of Inland Rail – between Narrabri and North Star in New South Wales – just weeks after the announcement of a builder.
Another new major milestone has been reached on the Narrabri to North Star section of the Inland Rail development with the announcement of a builder for Phase 1 of the project. This appointment follows the approval of the project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) last month.
