Edify Energy and Wirsol Energy have awarded a contract to RCR Tomlinson worth over $80 million for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) services for stage one of the Gannawarra Solar Farm project, west of Kerang in Victoria.
“We are pleased to have been selected by Edify Energy and Wirsol to deliver this large-scale solar energy project,” said RCR Managing Director and CEO, Dr Paul Dalgleish.

The project’s first stage will include the construction of a 60MWp DC capacity solar farm. RCR will be responsible for the EPC and commissioning of the solar farm, including associated substations as well as grid connection works.
Once the solar farm is commissioned, RCR will deliver O&M services to the project for a two-year period with an option of a three-year extension.
Construction will commence in the second quarter of 2017, with completion expected by the first quarter of 2018.

The major contract to deliver the $80 million City Tram Extension Project in South Australia has been awarded to the Downer EDI and York Civil joint venture, with works to commence in the coming weekend.
Construction is now underway on the $80 million Sumners Road interchange upgrade in Queensland, which will remove the old bridge and replace it with two new bridges with a total of six lanes.
