Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is kickstarting the development of its Airport Industrial Park with the construction of Aramex Australia’s office and warehouse.
The 26,120SQM facility – equivalent to three and a half rugby league fields – is the airport’s largest industrial project in its history.
The Airport Industrial Park spans more than 100 hectares, and it is a master planned warehousing, logistics and manufacturing precinct that is estimated to be over five times bigger than Brisbane’s South Bank.
“We are excited to welcome Aramex to launch Airport Industrial Park with us. The size of this development highlights the potential for logistics and industrial development at Brisbane Airport at scale.
“With freight and logistics industries becoming increasingly important, the unrivalled transport links of Brisbane Airport offer an ideal home for companies providing these essential services,” Brisbane Airport Corporation Executive General Manager Commercial Martin Ryan said.

The Aramex facility will include a warehouse with about 25,070SQM of Net Lettable Area (NLA) along with a 1,050SQM NLA office, 157 car parking bay and 14 bicycle racks plus end-of-trip facilities. The project will also deliver space for pallet racking, freight sortation and a customer collection zone.
The facility will feature about 1,000kW of commercial rooftop solar panels, which is 117 times more than the average current household installation. The solar panels will add to the sustainability credentials of Brisbane Airport that already has 6,000 PV solar panels fitted on the rooftops of six major developments, and this is on top of the 18,000 solar panels already in operation across the airport.
“Brisbane Airport’s direct access to road and air transport means we can deliver our goods even more efficiently to customers.
“In our business, speed and efficiency are critical. That’s why being located at the Brisbane Airport precinct and connected to major arterial roads were key factors in our decision-making.
“The quick access to the northern, western and southern distribution networks, along with multiple access points in the precinct will be an advantage for our operations,” Aramex Brisbane General Manager Jacob Marsters said.

The project site for the Aramex facility is centrally located within the industrial-zoned 49,571SMQ precinct.
The development is anticipated to generate 1,500 jobs during its construction and Aramex is estimated to employ 60 people once operational, with more than 120 Courier Franchises operating from the site each day.
The Aramex warehouse and office project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2024.
