Preferred contractor announced for Coolgardie Gold Project in WA

Primary Gold has appointed Hampton Mining and Civil – the mining division of Hampton Transport Services – as the preferred contractor for the Coolgardie Gold Project in Western Australia.

Under this contract, Hampton’s scope of works will include drill and blast as well as excavation works on three of the development’s open pits – MacPhersons, A-Cap and Tycho.

In addition, Hampton will be establishing underground portal positions in each of the three pits in order to cater for potential underground entry. The company is also responsible for the construction of site foundations – such as the workshop – and haulage of ore to the treatment mill.

Primary Gold has recently released a pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the Coolgardie development and is planning to launch mining this quarter.

“We have recently completed a highly encouraging PFS and subject to receipt of necessary approvals look forward to commencing mining at this project in the current quarter,” Primary Gold Managing Director Garry Mills said.
