NRW Holdings is now set to commence work on the Dalgaranga Gold Project in Western Australia, with Gascoyne Resources finalising the terms of the contract – which is valued at approximately $324 million.

Earlier this year, Gascoyne has named NRW Holdings as its preferred mining contractor for the Dalgaranga operation in the Murchison region.

Scope of works under the six-year contract will include open-pit mining services, drilling and blasting works as well as other associated services.

NRW will have about 160 workers initially on site, which will peak to up to 200 as the project progresses. The company is also planning to utilise its existing plant and equipment, with approximately $8 million worth of additional plant and ancillary equipment required for this project.

“We look forward to working with the NRW team to ensure that mobilisation and site establishment progresses as scheduled in January in preparation for mining in March, in line with the development timetable.

“Grade control drilling is under way ahead of mining at the Sly Fox and Golden Wing open pits, and the project remains on schedule to produce first gold late in the second quarter of next year,” Gascoyne Managing Director Mike Dunbar said.
