Golding Contractors, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRW Holdings Limited, has signed a $1.6 billion agreement with Stanmore SMC Pty Ltd for works at the South Walker Creek Mine (SWC) in Central Queensland.
The five-year mining services agreement (MSA) includes maintaining and operating eight fleets of heavy mining equipment to remove overburden and mine steel-making coal consistent with current contractual arrangements.
Executrion of the mining services agreement will begin in January 2026.
Assets deployed by Golding Contractors to the project site consist of those purchased through the mining services contract that was acquired from HSE Mining Pty Ltd in August of this year.
This mining services agreement is expected to provide employment to up to 650 personnel mostly residing within the region.

Stanmore’s South Walker Creek open-cut mine is located about 35 kilometres west of Nebo in the Bowen Basin. The mine has been operational since 1996 and it adopts a multi-bench, open-cut mining method that utilises a dragline alongside truck and hydraulic excavators.
