North Lakes commences Stage 2 of $75m retail development

Gina Theron   |   March 7, 2016

The $75 million stage two retail development in North Lakes, kicked off yesterday and is set to bring long-term employment and economic growth for the area. The development will be completed by Primewest, who will transform the 11,350 square meter site into a high quality retail space.

Queensland is taking the nation by storm with it's rise in major projects across the region. With Queensland's increase in building approvals over recent months, this North Lakes project reinforces the current opportunities for the construction industry within Queensland.

The large format retail facility will be comprised of:

  • A ground floor building
  • Corner building
  • Undercroft
  • Car parks
  • Loading docks
  • Loading driveways

Stage one of the North Lakes project has brought in businesses such as:

  • The Good Guysnorth_lakes.jpeg
  • Pillowtalk
  • Super Amart
  • PetStock
  • Baby Bunting
  • Godfreys

Stage two is set to bring in businesses such as

  • Anaconda
  • Supercheap Auto
  • Bedshed
  • Beacon Lighting
  • Kitchen Warehouse

With the development of the Moreton Bay region, it's estimated that the population will grow from its current 375,000 to 500,000 by 2031. It is crucial that the area supports this growth with an increase in job creation and the enthusiasm from big brand businesses, like those listed above, will do just this.

"Demand for Stage Two was extremely strong with more than 90 per cent of available space already snapped-up." - David Schwartz, Primewest director.

Stage Two is estimated to be completed by late 2016 with stage three's commencement date overlapping the tail end of stage two. The completed project will provide more that 25,000 square meters of retail space to the North Lakes community.
