As part of the METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project, the Cannington and Queens Park stations are reaching new heights as a major overhaul is being delivered to both stations.
The new Cannington Station will feature a bus interchange that will modernise facilities as well as increase capacity and create new public space for the community.
Cannington Station will have 16 bus stands, 290 parking bays, lifts, escalators and stairs.

On the other hand, the Queens Park Station is going to be elevated and built closer to Hamilton Street. It will have a welcoming forecourt as part of the removal of level crossings at Hamilton and Wharf streets and replacing them by raising the rail.
Queens Park Station will include 90 parking bays as well as lifts and stairs, and the removal of the Hamilton Street level crossing.

In the coming months, a formal Development Application is going to be lodged with the City of Canning and the community will be given the opportunity to have their say on the public spaces that will be delivered through this project.
The Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal project will help improve public transport safety by building Perth’s major elevated rail.
The overall project will remove six level crossing along the Armadale Line by raising the rail line over road at Mint Street, Oat Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street, Wharf Street and William Street. The project will also include constructing new, modern elevated stations at Carlisle, Oats Street, Queens Park, Cannington and Beckenham while Welshpool Station is going to be closed.
Once completed, the community will see improved public transport safety along with the creation of new and versatile public spaces and reduced traffic congestion.
