Engineering company Monadelphous Group Limited today reported it has secured new contracts and additional works in the resources, energy and infrastructure markets with a combined value of approximately $140 million.
BHP Billiton, Olympic Dam
Monadelphous will provide support to BHP Billiton’s copper-uranium operation at Roxby Downs in South Australia for a further five years. The company said it has provided maintenance and industrial services support at Olympic Dam for more than 25 years.
Rio Tinto, Cape Lambert Port Facility
In Western Australia, Monadelphous has won the contract to provide the design, construction and commissioning of a liquid fuel supply system for Rio Tinto Iron Ore at its Cape Lambert Port Facility near Karratha. The contract follows Monadelphous' successful completion of petroleum pipeline installations at Rio Tinto's West Angelas and Cape Lambert facilities.

Western Downs Regional Council, Chinchilla Potable Water Treatment Plant
Plans for the design and construction of a $17.5 million state-of-the-art potable water treatment plant in Chinchilla is well underway with Western Downs Regional Council with Monadelphous named the successful contractor for Stage 1 in February 2016. Construction on the $10.4 million works contract is set to commence in this month, with an expected completion for August 2017, weather permitting.
Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities
Monadelphous will undertake electrical and instrumentation works for the product loading jetty with JKC Australia LNG Pty Ltd at the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities in Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri said the new awards demonstrated the depth of the company's capabilities and built on their valued relationships with key customers.

Rio Tinto has announced that it has approved a US$146 million (approximately AUS$197 million) funding to jump start initial works at the Koodaideri iron ore project - located in the Pilbara region about 110 kilometres from Newman, Western Australia - ahead of the final investment decision which is expected to be made by the end of 2018.
Rio Tinto has announced that it is upgrading its bulk handling facilities at East Intercourse Island at the Port of Dampier, with an estimated project cost of $70 million. This project will include manufacturing, installing and commissioning of three replacement stackers as well as associated equipment.
