Guma Indigenous Construction Resources Group (ICRG) has won a contract for works on Gina Rinehart’s Roy Hill iron ore mine in the Pilbara region – which the value of the contract has not been released.
Guma ICRG will be carrying out the installation and construction of four concrete evaporation sumps at the Roy Hill port facility in Port Hedland, increasing the protection against potential environmental impacts from the materials being transported.
The project will also involve the redirection of conveyor effluent, excavation works to accommodate the sump, installation of formwork as well as associated concrete pours and drainage-related earthworks.
“We believe the nature of this contract demonstrates our adaptability and demonstrates the confidence large resources firms have in ICRG when it comes to our track record of project delivery.
“I look forward to further building Guma ICRG’s relationship with Roy Hill, where we have had previous involvement in projects including the upgrade and sealing of the mine access road,” said ICRG Managing Director Shane Cable.
