Cbus Property has awarded Hutchinson Builders the contract to build a new mixed-use development at the site of the former Westpac Credit Card Services Building in Epping, New South Wales.
“The Langston will significantly contribute to the revitalisation of the Epping Town Centre and as such, choosing the right contractor was critical for Cbus Property.
“This is our first project with Hutchies and we are looking forward to working closely with them,” Cbus Property Chief Executive Officer Adrian Pozzo said.
The Langston is designed by architecture firm Architectus with landscaping designed by Arcadia. The development is located approximately 18 kilometres north west of Sydney’s CBD and is 100 metres away from the Epping Train Station.
This mixed-use project will comprise of 463 apartments across three towers that will have 19, 24 and 29 storeys respectively. The ground level of the project will cater to a mixed-use precinct that will have approximately 1,681-SQM of retail space together with an open public space and shareways that will connect the new town centre to the Epping Train Station.
“Architectus has since envisioned three residential towers comprising of [463] apartments, each with a 2-storey retail podium creating a central public plaza. The curvaceous lines of the towers are informed by prevailing winds, with the materials palette taking cues from nearby parklands thereby creating a new landmark that is sympathetic to the surrounding context,” Architectus said on the website.
The Langston precinct will also feature pedestrian links throughout the site that will connect with Pembroke Park to east as well as to the Council’s public library and other recreational facilities in the area that are set to revitalise the eastern side of the Epping Train Station.
Hutchinson Builders is set to begin ground works on The Langston from January 2019. Project completion is anticipated for 2021 to 2022.
“We’re excited to commence work on our first project with Cbus Property, especially considering the significant The Langston will have in redefining the Epping Town Centre.
“The Langston is a landmark project for Cbus Property, who have a well-earned reputation for quality residential projects up and down Australia’s east coast,” Hutchinson Builders Managing Director Greg Quinn said.
