Construction contractor for the Northern Gas Pipeline, McConnell Dowell, is seeking expressions of interest for supplier and subcontractor opportunities that may arise for the pipeline. McConnell Dowell has been engaged by Jemena to construct the Northern Gas Pipeline. This pipeline will connect the gas fields in the Northern Territory with customers in the Eastern Gas Market, and run between Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory and Mt Isa in Queensland. The construction scope for this contract includes the 623km high pressure gas pipeline, two compressor stations and mid-line facilities. Construction of the NGP is expected to commence in early 2017 and be completed by 2018.

McConnell Dowell will utilise the ICN Gateway to identify local suppliers and subcontractors, with proven competence, who are commercially competitive, to participate in the construction of the NGP pipeline.
It is expected that the procurement packages associated with the construction works will begin to be listed on the ICN Gateway in the second half of 2016.
1. What does an Expression of Interest achieve?
Key aspects from the Company Profiles of all registrants (there may be as many as 100!) are extracted into an Excel file. This will also include the registrant’s responses to questions that the buyer may have defined as part of the EOI process. The buyer reviews this information and shortlists companies based on best match to their requirements. Typically the buyer may then send out a Request for Tender and/or a Prequalification questionnaire. Note that ICN facilitates the communication process between the parties. We do not interfere in the buyer’s decision of where and how to procure.
2. How do I submit an effective Expression of Interest?
3. What feedback will I get after my Expression of Interest?
Shortlisted companies may be requested to submit information required to prequalify. Note that most buyers do expect comprehensive and complete disclosure of all pertinent information, including financials, as part of their pre-qualification process. However the invitation to submit further information is dependent on the Project Proponent or their Contractors and ICN does not play any role in this process.
To view a project in more detail and to proceed with submitting an EOI, go to the project: https://gateway.icn.org.au/project/3767/northern-gas-pipeline-construction
Before you can submit an expression of interest (EOI), you must be logged in to your ICN Gateway company profile. Type in your email address and nominated password into the Login tab on the top right hand corner of the page. Complete your profile to above 90% as soon as possible so you can start submitting Expressions of Interests (EOIs) against opportunities on the Northern Gas Pipeline Construction (NGPC) Project.
Note: If you need help creating and maintaining a company profile, check out this guide.
A registration page displaying the work packages will appear at the bottom of the page. Check your selection, in this case the Full Scope EOI, then click Send Expression of Interest situated just above the Package title menu bar.
You may be asked project questions before you can submit your expression of interest. In some cases there are no questions to answer at this stage. Examples of possible questions below:
Note: After you have submitted an EOI, a record of the EOI will be reflected on your company profile. When you first log in, under Profile Options you will see View Company EOIs in the list on the left of the screen. You will also receive a confirmation email of the EOI you submitted for the project.
