VIC Government invests $25m into Ballarat Station Precinct upgrade

Last week, the $25 million Ballarat Station Precinct upgrade commenced the second stage of the commercial procurement process. Four consortiums have been short-listed and invited to take part in the Request for Proposal (RFP) phase. This process will take 12 weeks to complete and will close on June 17 2016.

Project objective:

The objective of the redevelopment is to transform the Ballarat Station Precinct into a commercial, cultural hub for locals, commuters and visitors. Being the gateway to the city and the entire Western Victoria region, this project will benefit the community as a whole on a daily basis, providing a range of commercial attractions and a safer, more efficient transportation intersection.

The Victorian Government acknowledges the historical significance of this precinct and therefore sees this upgrade as an opportunity to remediate and conserve this site.
