Georgiou Group has been awarded a $17 million contract to build Tianqi Lithium’s Australian headquarters. The contract was awarded by MSP Engineering, the head contractor for the multi-million dollar Kwinana lithium processing plant.

Under their contract, Georgiou will build a new office building as well as training, security, warehouse storage, laboratory and control room buildings at the processing plant site.

According to Georgiou Chief Executive John Georgiou, the buildings will have key featured which are drawn from Chinese Feng Shui.

“The new control room building is a critical part of the whole project and will control all elements of the lithium processing plant,” Mr Georgiou said.

This is Georgiou’s third contract win for works on the Kwinana project. The company previously secured the forward works contract as well as concrete works contract for the processing plant.

“After successfully delivering the forward works contract, Georgiou is thrilled to again be working alongside Tianqi Lithium Australia and MSP Engineering to deliver this landmark project, and we look forward to playing a part in changing the landscape of manufacturing and construction in WA,” Mr Georgiou said.

Construction of the new buildings is expected to commence later this month and will be creating up to 110 jobs during peak construction.
