The Peel Health Campus Redevelopment in Western Australia continues to progress and the tender for forward works has now been released to market.

The forward or enabling works are part of the approximately $152 million budget for the redevelopment – which will be updated when final planning is complete.

This tender will provide opportunities for contractors to deliver significant work that will support the region and the local community.

“The Cook Government continues to invest in public healthcare in our region, and it is fantastic to see the Peel Health Campus enter this next phase.

“In addition to this major redevelopment, we are investing in a new community mental health and specialist community eating disorder service that will open in 2025,” Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke said.

The enabling works are going to be delivered in two stages and its scope will include:

  • Additional public and staff car parking and traffic access
  • Extension of the ring road
  • A new Central Energy Plant shell in preparation for Western Power upgrades
  • Relocation of the existing Central Energy Plant

For more information on the forward works tender and its requirements, you can visit Tenders WA. Submissions will close on 8 October 2024, with enabling works expected to begin before the end of the year.

“It is exciting to see this vital project take another significant step forward just three weeks after we celebrated PHC’s return to public hands.

“Among other things, the Peel health Campus redevelopment will deliver more beds, an additional operating theatre and a new mental health emergency centre,” Mandurah MLA David Templeman said.

The Peel Health Campus was returned to public hands in August of this year. Its redevelopment wil ensure that it continues to provide the best possible services to the community.

This major overhaul of the Peel Health Campus will deliver a new mental health emergency centre, additional operating theatres, over 60 additional inpatient beds and 15 palliative care hospice beds.

The project will also deliver 12 chemotherapy places, more outpatient services, a new building of medical imaging services alongside the reconfiguration of the emergency department and expansion of the day procedure unit.

“We’re investing in a major redevelopment of Peel Health Campus that will ensure it continues to meet the needs of the region into the future.

“The upgrade will mean more beds, more outpatient services and more mental health services,” Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said.

“This forward works package is an important milestone in the redevelopment of Peel Health Campus, which will provide our Mandurah community with the upgraded public healthcare facilities we need.

“The redevelopment will see our region benefit from 12 chemotherapy places, more outpatient services, new medical imaging services, and an expanded day procedure,” Dawesville MLA Lisa Munday said.
