Local contracting company EC&M has secured a number of contracts with a combined value of $130 million for works in New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland.
New South Wales
EC&M, in a joint venture with CPC Engineering, has been awarded a contract for works on Evolution Mining’s Cowal gold project. Scope of works include installation of an additional leaching circuit that is designed to recover gold from the floatation tailings stream.
Evolution Mining is expected to invest approximately $35 million to $40 million over the next two years for this leaching project, and commissioning is set in early 2019.
EC&M has also secured a contract to complete electrical and communications work on Sydney’s WestConnex M4 Road Tunnel project.
Western Australia
The company will be taking part in $367 million upgrade of the HMAS Stirling naval base on Garden Island. EC&M will be delivering power generation and infrastructure works for this project.
EC&M will also deliver works on Tianqi Lithium’s $400 million Kwinana lithium processing plant. The company’s contract for this project – which was awarded by MSP Engineering – is for an electrical and instrumentation package at the Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant 1.
Queensland
CPB Contractors has awarded the contracting company a contract to deliver electrical and instrumentation works at BHP Billiton’s Caval Ridge mine expansion project in the Bowen Basin.
“The geographic spread and new market entries represented by these contract awards are particularly pleasing as they underline the success of the ECM Group diversity and growth strategy.
“We feel we are well positioned to capitalise on new opportunities in the current market, having retained capacity and capability through a lean market in recent times,” EC&M Managing Director Simon Higgins said.
