Downer secures $155m worth of contracts for works in NSW, WA and SA

Downer Group continues to build their order book with the recent announcement of approximately $155 million worth of contract wins through its engineering, construction and maintenance divisions.

The contracts the company has secured include:

  • WaterNSW: A two-year contract for the installation of a high and low voltage distribution system as well as the inclusion of backbone services for future SCADA, control, security, instrumentation and communication systems to five dams in the Upper Nepean System and Woronora
  • Moly Cop (NSW): A three-year contract to provide installation and mechanical services to the Waratah operations.
    • Moly Cop’s Australian arm manufactures the Comsteel products for rail consumables products – including forged and rolled railway wheels, forged railway axles as well as fully assembled wheelsets set to International Standards for all classes of rolling stock
  • Chevron (WA): A contract to provide sustaining capital works for Chevron’s Western Australia operations
  • Alcoa (WA): A two-year contract to provide multi-disciplined site services for Alcoa’s Kwinana operations
  • Synergy (WA): A one-year contract to deliver major maintenance, shut-down and project support to the Muja power station
    • Muja is a 1094MW power station – Synergy’s largest power station – located 22 kilometres east of Collie
  • BHP (SA): A contract to assemble the electrostatic precipitator as well as for non-hot metals works which are associated with the Olympic Dam shutdown in 2017

Downer Chief Executive Officer, Engineering, Construction and Maintenance Brendan Petersen said: “We look forward to working closely with these customers, providing a high level of service and delivering on our commitments.”
