Formerly known as POZ Minerals, Gibb River Diamonds has been granted a number of mining leases as well as exploration leases by the State Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for its Blina Diamond Project in Ellendale diamond province in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
“The core focus of Gibb River Diamonds is to initiate bulk sampling and trial mining operations at the Blina Diamond Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. With permitting to mine now in place, this next exciting phase of operations is now scheduled to commence at the end of the wet season early next year,” Gibb River Diamonds Executive Chairman Jim Richards said through a statement.
Aside from the initiation of bulk sampling, the company is also preparing to commence camp construction.
Gibb River Diamonds is currently awaiting the decision from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation for the works approval license which, once granted, will get the company to begin developing a plant and tailings storage facility for the Blina Diamond Project.
The company is also in the process of finalising funding requirements for the project.
