Decmil Group to deliver 70MW solar plant in NSW

Perth-based Decmil Group and US-based SolarReserve have entered into a joint venture agreement to deliver a 70MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in New South Wales. Decmil has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SolarReserve’s Australian subsidiary for the project’s development, design and construction.

“Both organisations bring complimentary skills together to form a highly formidable team to deliver utility grade solar PV projects in the Australian market,” said Decmil Managing Director Scott Criddle.

Decmil companies – including its subsidiary Scope Australia – will be managing the project development approval process as well as engineering design work through an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract. SolarReserve, on the other hand, will be the developer and project owner.

According to SolarReserve Senior Vice President of Development Tom Georgis, the MoU with Decmil will help advance the SolarReserve’s solar PV projects pipeline in Australia.

“SolarReserve looks for strong, complimentary partners in each of our active markets. This MoU with Decmil will help advance our pipeline of solar PV projects in the Australian market by partnering with an established contractor that has broad expertise in regional engineering construction,” Mr Georgis said.

Construction on the solar PV plant is expected to commence in 2018.
