Development of Walker Corporation’s $1 billion Citiswich Business Park in Ipswich, Queensland continues with a works underway on a 13,750-SQM Costco outlet that will be of service to Ipswich and surrounding areas.

The $50 million Costco outlet will include 825 parking spaces as well as a Costco service station that can cater to traffic running through Citiswich and along the Ipswich Motorway, Cunningham and Warrego Highways.

Approximately 90 jobs will be created during the construction of the new outlet, and Costco is aiming to employ 280 full-time as well as casual jobs once the outlet is operational.

“We believe Citiswich is an excellent location as it draws on a large catchment areas from Brisbane to the Western corridor and regional areas.

“We are delighted to be part of the strong economic growth story in South East Queensland,” Costco Australia Managing Director Patrick Noone said.

This outlet in the Citiswich Business Park is the second Costco outlet to be built in Queensland. The first outlet in-state is located at North Lakes.

“We believe that Costco will draw more tenants to Citiswich as the outlet will draw families and businesses from across South East Queensland,” Walker Corporation Queensland General Manager Peter Saba said.

The new Costco outlet in Ipswich is set to open its doors by Christmas 2018.
