Multiplex has been awarded the construction contract for Brookfield Property Partners' $1.7 billion Wynyard Place development project in Sydney’s CBD.
The 75,000 square metre development – designed by MAKE in collaboration with Architectus – will feature a world-class office tower as well as the restoration of two heritage buildings, an upgrade to Wynyard’s George Street entrance, public concourse and grand transit hall.
The project’s centrepiece – located at 10 Carrington Street – is going to be a 59,000 square metre of PCA Premium grade office space with over 27 level which offers convenient amenities and facilities.
As part of the project, Shell House and 285 George Street will be refurbished, returning both heritage properties to their original use as office buildings.
Wynyard Place will also feature a dynamic and diverse retail, dining and entertainment space, making it a truly mixed-use precinct.
According to Multiplex’s Regional Managing Director NSW David Ghannoum, the company is delighted to be given the opportunity to collaborate with their affiliate, Brookfield, on the delivery of Wynyard Place.
“We’re thrilled that our 1000th project is with Brookfield and will build on our demonstrated experience in delivering world-class precincts together,” Mr Ghannoum said.
Early works on the project have already commenced and construction is expected to ramp up in 2017. The Wynyard Place project is due to be completed in 2020.
