Alcore Limited - a subsidiary of Australian Bauxite Limited - has awarded Clough Projects Australia to design and build the first Alcore Production Plant located in New South Wales.
“Clough is a pioneering engineering and construction company and our expertise with technology readiness, front end engineering and EPC delivery will ensure a smooth transition for Alcore from the lab research stage to their first commercial plant,” Clough CEO and Managing Director Peter Bennett said.
Clough has been appointed to deliver the production plant because the company has undertaken the investigation of the Core Technology for several years and is now ready to deliver the Alcore project.
“Clough is an ideal partner for Alcore. Clough is well known for its commitment to safety and sustainability, whilst optimising productivity and costs at every phase of a project,” Alcore’s Chief Operating Officer Phillip Hall said.
Following a six-month test work, Alcore is now committed to build its first commercial plant where by-products from aluminium smelters will be converted to Aluminium Flouride (AIF3), which will then be sold back to the smelters as an essential electrolyte for smelting.
