CIMIC's Theiss and Sedgman subsidiaries have secured $105m worth of Queensland coal contract extensions.
Mineral processing company, Sedgman, has won an extension to continue work at Red Mountain Joint Venture's coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) in the Bowen Basin.
The contract, with revenue of $75 million, continues Sedgman’s operation and maintenance of the CHPP until June 2019, with the potential for an additional two years after the initial period.

Mining services provider, thesis, has also expanded its mining services contract at Jellinbah Group's Lake Vermont Coal Mine in the Bowen Basin.
Theiss will design and build an additional processing module at the CHPP, generating revenue of $30 million. Sedgman will provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the module, which is due for completion in late 2017. Theiss will continue to operate and maintain the facility.
