CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors’ wholly owned subsidiary, Broad Constructions, has been appointed to deliver the Ferny Grove Central project in Brisbane.
The project developers, Honeycombes Property Group and MaxCap Group, have awarded a $100 million contract to CPB Contractors for the works.
“Backed by CPB Contractors, Broad Construction is our specialist building company and is delivering a range of high-quality projects, across Queensland and Western Australia. We are very pleased to be working with the Honeycombes Property Group and the MaxCap Group on this landmark urban redevelopment,” CIMIC Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Juan Santamaria said.
“The experience of our team means that we have the capability to provide safe and certain delivery to our clients. Broad's inclusive procurement strategies will also provide opportunities for local workers and businesses,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears said.
The $140 million project involves turning the existing Ferny Grove train station commuter car park into a mixed-use retail, commercial and residential hub while, at the same time, providing additional parking spaces for commuter vehicles.
Major construction activities are due to commence in July 2021 and be completed by August 2023.
Once up and running, Ferny Grove Central will offer improved parking; increased local amenity such as new transport facilities and landscaped pedestrian plazas; retail offering that includes a full line supermarket, childcare facility and cinema complex; as well as a residential apartment complex called The Fernery.
