Affordable Earthworx lands major client with PlantMiner

Affordable Earthworx’s high standard of work help reel in customers, but they have fought to capture that large scale project which gets their gear on site for a lengthy period. Within six months of listing as a PlantMiner supplier, Affordable Earthworx has increased their fleet utilisation, boosted their online presence … and landed a major client.

With one key client, Affordable Earthworx secured hire work worth 170 times their PlantMiner subscription

Affordable Earthworx is a family run plant hire operation, providing earthmoving services to South East Queensland. Their full range of equipment and attachments is suitable for bulk excavation, detail excavation, civil works, sub-division works, compaction, carparks, roads, drainage work, building dams and material supply.

The market is competitive, with thousands of decision makers in the industry, and the process of securing hire contracts is long. It's entirely possible to nurture between four to six customers over a period of seven to twelve months.

Because of the competitive nature of this industry, the key to success is attracting and winning a big name client that will generate fantastic long-term revenue opportunities.  Luke Taylor of Affordable Earthworx, knows that to land and retain those clients, qualified leads are vital.

Prior to using PlantMiner, Luke relied on word of mouth to utilise his fleet. Like so many plant hire owners, Luke simply did not have the time to run his business and actively look for new opportunities.

Luke registered his interest with PlantMiner, met our Queensland sales managers the next day, and became a listed supplier the day after.

“I don’t want to miss out on a quality client. If I can make one sale with a large firm, PlantMiner is paid for 50 times over!”

A few months after using PlantMiner’s lead generation platform, the elusive large-scale client that Luke had been trying to capture for years finally submitted a quote request.

The prospective client needed a contractor to undertake the earthworks component of a project starting in June in Eight Mile Plains, QLD. They submitted a quote request through PlantMiner in April for a bulk earthworks package, and Affordable Earthworx were one of the matched PlantMiner suppliers who serviced the project area.

Luke submitted his prices in a timely and competitive way, and secured the contract in late May.

“They were the best company I’ve ever contracted for and I wouldn’t have had the chance to work with them if it wasn’t for PlantMiner.”

That one big civil construction company brought in a revenue of $180,000, which translated to over 62 times Luke’s first-year investment in PlantMiner.

And there’s an ever higher lifetime revenue value for that customer.

Affordable Earthworx's ability to provide a high level of work on-time and efficiently meant that after stage one of that project was completed, the hirer contracted Affordable Earthworx for a further 6-8 months of work worth $300,000.
