Infrastructure Australia has released its annual Infrastructure Priority List and the Australian Government welcomes this announcement that will assist in the strategic delivery of infrastructure that will help build the nation.
The list provides an independent view - with an assessment and analysis - of vital infrastructure projects the nation needs over the next 15 years
“Infrastructure Australia’s 2019 Infrastructure Priority List is the most comprehensive and diverse list of investments the independent statutory body has identified to date.
“It details 121 nationally significant proposals across a range of sectors including transport, energy, water, communications, housing and education and about $58 billion worth of projects,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said.
Some of the projects listed that are already supported by the Government include:
$2 billion for the Monash Freeway and North East Link projects in Melbourne, Victoria
$350 million for the METRONET rail link between Thornlie and Cockburn in Perth, Western Australia
$177 million for the North-South Corridor upgrade between Regency Road and Pym Street in Adelaide, South Australia
“The Coalition has already committed to investing in the major congestion-busting initiatives which are appearing for the first time on the Priority List.
“This includes projects in Australia’s biggest capital cities as well as those that promote growth and accessibility in regional communities,” Minister for Cities, Urban Infrastructure and Population Alan Tudge said.
The Infrastructure Priority List contains 25 new infrastructure proposals integrated with the eight high-priority projects, 10 priority project, 29 high priority initiatives and 74 priority initiatives.
